First group buy? Everything you need to know about how it works, timing, shipping, and the nature of natural stone.

01What exactly is a group buy? +

A group buy (GB) pools orders so a limited, made-to-order run can be produced. You reserve and pay during the open window (1 Jul – 1 Aug); once it closes, the final count is locked and your case is cut, shaped and finished specifically for you. It is not off-the-shelf stock — nothing is pre-made.

02How long until I receive my case? +

Production lead time is 90 days from the close of the GB (1 Aug). Each piece is hand-cut from a single block, then polished and sealed, so the timeline reflects genuine craftsmanship rather than warehousing. Expect dispatch around late October, with 5-7 days for shipping on top depending on your region.

03How much is shipping, and where from? +

Shipping is $50 USD, dispatched from Thailand. Because solid marble is heavy (~2.0 kg), real-world freight often exceeds this — anything above the $50 charge is absorbed within reasonable limits. If you are based in Thailand you will be charged for local EMS Express/Flash Express shipping.

04Can I cancel or return my order? +

While the GB window is open, you may cancel for a full refund. After the window closes (1 Aug), orders enter production and are made-to-order, so cancellations can no longer be accepted. Items that arrive damaged in transit will of course be made right — reach out and we'll sort it.

05Which PCBs and plates fit? +

The case fits most 65% PCBs and plates, including KDFans' DZ65 and YMDK's YMD-65% ZJ68. It supports tray mount and Keysnap mount on threaded screw-in standoffs. Internals — PCB, plate, foam, switches, stabilisers and keycaps — are optional and bought separately; see the Add-ons page.

06Will my case look exactly like the photos? +

No — and that's the point. Each case is shaped from a single, natural block of marble, so grain, veining and tone vary from unit to unit. Photographs are representative, not exact. Every KOSANJI is genuinely one of one; minor natural variation is a feature of the stone, not a defect.
